What is Pingoon?
Pingoon is a free mobile app for iOS and Android that brings events, walking routes and friend groups together on a single map. It shows the events happening near you, shares the live location of people on their way with their own group only, and scores walking routes by the stops along them. Instead of describing where to meet, you drop a ping on the map.

Puts events on the map
Events near you are sorted by distance, within a radius you set. Joining is one tap; hosting your own is picking a point on the map.
Scores walking routes
Routes are filtered by the kinds of stops they pass — museum, shore, a viewpoint. Every stop you check in at scores points, and finishing the route adds a bonus.
Keeps the group together
Everyone in the group sees the meeting point, the time and the live location of those already on their way, on one screen. Groups also carry posts, announcements and polls.

Is Pingoon free?
Yes. The app is a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
Who can see my location?
Only the group of the event you joined, and only while you turn it on. Location sharing is a separate choice for every event and can be switched off at any time; with it off you can still join, see the meeting point and follow the route.
Is Pingoon a social network?
No. There is no feed, no followers and no explore page. Posts, polls and announcements are visible only inside the group you belong to.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. This site introduces the app; the map itself lives in the app.
